As a rowing enthusiast, we know how important it is to properly maintain your nautical equipment to ensure safe outings and extend the life of your boat.

Indeed, water, residue, dirt and UV rays can alter its structure over time.

A good cleaning after each outing and more thorough maintenance once or twice a year will keep your boat in perfect condition.

Preparation and cleaning

In order to fully enjoy your rowing outings, it is essential to properly prepare and maintain your equipment. A clean and well-maintained boat not only improves your performance, but also ensures your safety when you go out on the water.

Cleaning the boat

Cleaning the boat is a crucial step in maintaining its performance and extending its life.

Exterior cleaning

After each outing, it is recommended to rinse the entire boat with fresh water to remove salt, mud and other debris.

Use specific cleaning products that do not damage the boat's materials, but are also environmentally friendly.

(neutral pH between 6.5 and 7.5, such as dishwashing liquid).

Remember to remove the plugs after each outing to extract the moisture and the pressure that this can exert.

Interior cleaning

For the interior, clean the rails using a toothbrush, sponge or cloth soaked in acetone to remove sand, mud or rubber residue from the wheels.

If the residue accumulates, there is a risk that the sliding of the seat may be affected.

In order to make your carbon shine, use anti-scale spray and a cloth to remove the white residue that water may have left on your boat.

Take a look at the racks, seats and fixings. If a screw is loose or a part is worn, it is better to detect it quickly to avoid any problems during the next outing.

During the annual maintenance

Use polish using a polisher or a cloth and polish by hand.

This leaves a highly shiny surface, protected from UV rays, repelling dirt and being easy to clean, if you have surface scratches this action allows them to be reduced and even removed.

Storing the boat

The ideal is to store the boat in protective covers in order to keep your boat impeccable after each outing
